Studio Visit
Last week a few of us from WBR went up to Vancouver to visit R.E.M. in the studio. They have since wrapped up there and are now preparing for their 5 night stay in Dublin for "working rehearsals" as well as recording in the Irish city. The Vancouver trip was fun, and some pictures are online in our Tech Guru's Flickr account. Its too early to say what the record sounds like, but the world shall know in a few short weeks. The nicest thing about visiting R.E.M. at any time is how great they are as people, and how much fun they always seem to have making music. The next update on the guys will be from Dublin. Muse pack the house on a tuesday!
Playing their biggest show in Los Angeles to date... 14,000 kids on a Tuesday night! Show was tremendous. Floor of forum was packed with clapping and moshing fans. The show reminded me of their 3 sold out nights at Wembley Arena in the UK. We had planned a plaque presentation post show. After we waited backstage for a while. only 2 of the 3 band members came out of their dressing room since Chris Wolstenholme, the bass player, was sick. But there were 3 plaques and I couldn't very well leave one on the floor, so I decided to hold it in front of my face and take the photos with the band. Problem is, Chris looks like he was wearing a pink dress! Hahah. I guess Matthew thought it was funny cuz he seems to be laughing at me or looking at me like I'm nutz! We were proud. They were happy. No one will ever know my true identity...
